For brands

Your name shouldn't
fund someone else's fraud.

Someone using your name in an ad may be trying to steal from your customers or profit at your business's expense. Confirm which accounts you own or authorise so we can recognise them when we investigate.

Your accounts get a public record that ad blockers and customers can check. We notify you privately whenever we file evidence against an ad impersonating your brand. The platform that ran the ad decides whether to remove it or the advertiser's account.

Listing is free and starts with an email to [email protected].

Why it's free

Marcode sells a fraud detection platform to brands running affiliate programmes, covering affiliate hijacking, brand bidding and ad hijacking, and that paying work is what funds Fray. About Marcode.

Verify your brand

An email claim lets you manage your record, including records we have already built from public evidence. DNS verification or an advertisers.txt file also lets you declare that only the accounts you list are authorised.

  1. Claim by email

We email a confirmation request to admin@, administrator@, webmaster@, hostmaster@, or postmaster@ at your registrable domain, and you reply to confirm. These are the only addresses accepted for verification.

You can review your records, add and remove accounts, and receive private notifications of cases affecting your brand.

  2. Verify by DNS TXT

We send you a token. Publish it as a single record:

    _advertisers.{domain} TXT "adregistry-verify={token}"

What this gets you: everything in claim by email, plus attested status on your registry record.

  3. Publish advertisers.txt the standard

Host the file at https://{domain}/.well-known/advertisers.txt and tell us it's live. Fray mirrors it, and your file becomes the authoritative record. A hosted file or DNS-verified record lets you declare that any account you have not listed is unauthorised. You can create the file with the generator.

Claim by email. Send your domain and preferred verification method to [email protected], and we'll take you through verification.

To fix an existing record, send a dispute or correction.

How changes to your record work

All changes are logged publicly, including changes made by Fray.

Generate your advertisers.txt

The generator runs in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to us. Host the file at /.well-known/advertisers.txt on your domain, or claim your record for Fray to host.

1 · Your domain

The domain your ads land on, without www or paths.

2 · Contact
3 · Do you buy ads at all?

"No" produces a Policy: none file, stating that no account is authorised to advertise your brand.

4 · Your own account IDs, per platform

One per line or comma-separated. Format: AR followed by 20 digits. Find yours at adstransparency.google.com.

The Microsoft identifier profile is pending, so these records are valid but treated as opaque for now.

Digits only: the Page ID from the Meta Ad Library, not an ad-account number.

5 · Agencies or affiliates

If yes, the file includes commented templates for agent and partner records to fill in with their account IDs.

Your advertisers.txt

The generator sets Expires: one year out (the longest validity consuming software honours) and Policy: open as the safe default when you buy ads. Review the file before publishing. The format also has pending records for accounts about to start advertising and revoked records for accounts you no longer authorise.
